2021/22 Winter Season – Considerations and Responsibilities for a safe and happy holiday together

The health and safety of our guests and employees is of our utmost concern. Ski instructors are by nature service providers and therefore are constantly in direct contact with our guests. In order to best protect the health and safety of both our guests and our employees while still providing all our ski courses and other services, various protocols and safety measures are necessary for this winter season.

These measures are subject to constant evaluation and adjustment in accordance with the official requirements provided by the Austrian government and our partners – in particular the Bergbahnen (lift company), our stakeholders and health authorities in collaboration with our medical advisors here in Fiss-Ladis. It is also crucial for us all to react quickly to any fluctuations to the local and European infection rates.

Outdoor Sport

In general, skiing is considered an outdoor sport and the risk of infection is lower outside than it is indoors. It is our goal to minimise as many points of contact wherever possible.

Online Bookings

The large majority of our services are able to be booked online. Therefore, the trip into the Ski School Office is rendered unnecessary and another point of contact is eliminated. This also ensures that all relevant data for possible contact tracing is optimally collected and recorded. To help keep you safe, we will move the majority of our payment options for both group and private lessons online.

Expansion of Meeting Points

To avoid the formation of large crowds, we will be separating and expanding the meeting points for both group and private lessons. This will allow us to achieve greater social distancing at our meeting points.

Double Ski School Program

The doubled ski school program, with staggered starting times, will be extended. The starting times of individual groups will be flexible and adapted to the situation at hand; and our guests will be informed of any changes in good time.

Face Masks and Hand Sanitisation

Regardless of government guidelines, we require all employees and guests (over the age of 6 years old) to wear face masks in all public areas. It is also expected that guests and employees will sanitise their hands upon entering and leaving our premises. Together we protect each other. This is especially valid in the following indoor areas: all sales outlets in Serfaus-Fiss-Ladis, Hotels, Kindervilla, Berta’s Kindergarten and Kinderplanet. All sales outlets and receptions are fitted with protective glass screens.

It is mandatory that face masks are worn at the meeting points. In the ski groups, it is also required to wear face masks as soon as the social distance of 1.5m cannot be maintained. For example: while standing in the group, in the waiting areas or during a personal assessment by the instructor.

Für Mitarbeiter am Sammelplatz und in den Gondeln gibt es ebenfalls noch eine Maskenempfehlung der Bergbahn, aber keine Verpflichtung.

Kids’ Shows

The popular and well-loved kids’ entertainment shows will only take place outdoors. However, we will do our utmost to ensure the children will still have fun during their breaks.

Ski Races

The weekly ski races will continue to take place without any restrictions. The start times for the races will be optimised to largely avoid any congestion and crowd formation in the start and finish areas. The award ceremonies will all take place outside.

Programs for Kids up to 3 Years

The kindergarten for children over the age of 3 months will only be offered in Fiss. Online registration must be completed the day before (at the latest) to ensure a spot, as only a limited number of children can be looked after at once. The kindergarten is disinfected hourly and parental entry into the area is strictly limited.

Employee Safety

We hold the safety of our employees in the highest regard. In addition to a code of conduct and proper instruction, we provide our employees with good accommodation and working conditions. We will carry out systematic tests should there be any suspicion of a case of COVID-19.

Free 48 Hour cancellation

If, despite the extensive safety procedures, you should change your mind at short notice, or are not feeling well, we will be offering a free cancellation option for all courses booked online up to 48 hours before the start of the course, no questions asked.
